National Panhellenic Conference

The National Panhellenic Conference, one of the largest organizations advocating for women, is the umbrella group for 26 national and international sororities that are autonomous social organizations. NPC sororities are located on more than 670 campuses with 411,242 undergraduate members in 3,288 chapters. Alumnae are represented in 3,784 associations throughout the world.

Why join an Alumnae Panhellenic?

An Alumnae Panhellenic is a community-based organization affiliated with the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC). Membership is composed of alumnae representatives from NPC member organizations.

The purpose of Alumnae Panhellenics is to:

• Inform sorority women of current trends.

• Promote the sorority experience.

• Improve the Panhellenic image.

• Stimulate a continuing interest in Panhellenic involvement.

Alumnae Panhellenics are philanthropic and social organizations. Some Alumnae Panhellenics raise funds for scholarships, participate in community service and take part in altruistic work in their local communities. They may also host informational events for potential new members to learn about sorority recruitment. Members might assist local colleges and universities with the recruitment process. Even if an alumna’s own sorority is not represented on a campus, participation in the Alumnae Panhellenic helps to promote NPC membership overall.
